Location: Dasht-e Kavir, Iran.
A Note From The Artist:
Starring at the vastness in Dasht-e Kavir, the fiery sun made the sand dunes look like waves in the ocean. I have admired the grace of dusk from land, sea, and mountains but never have I witnessed it from such wilderness.
The brutality of the desert forces one to challenge nature for existence like the desert rose - a beauty born out of desolation. Desert rose is a symbol of perseverance, dedication, and ultimately success. Scientifically, it is a natural crystal formation that resembles the shape of a rose which can be found in the desert in certain parts of the world. It is often used as a talisman to confront hardship, phobias and to boost self-confidence.
The sun in Dasht-e Kavir seemed exceptionally larger. While creating this photograph, the wind continued to brush the sand to my feet, burying them deeper into the dunes.
