Location: Iceland, 2016.
It was a week-long trip to Iceland that started in Reykjavik. We headed clockwise on the ring road in gloomy weather. The rain and the wind were battering us along the way before we arrived at Mývatn, a lake in the northern part of the island.
Finally, the weather turned the corner. The sun was brightly illuminating the alien landscape and the sky was as blue as it could be. Standing by the roadside, I saw a van heading towards the unknown. It had a larger roof storage box and was moving fairly slowly as if it was lost.
I watched the van gradually vanished into the horizon as I reminisced the times when I was lost on a road trip. It almost always ended with a pleasant surprise!

Born in Malaysia, I was bitten by the travel bug at a young age. My interest in exploring off the beaten tracks has led me to places such as Tibet, Iran, and Pakistan. While it’s nice to see new places, I have enjoyed the cultural experience of traveling more. I would bring home a piece of local culture from every place I visit, mainly in the form of wall art.
Maybe you have been to places I have photographed, or seen them elsewhere. I hope, through my work, I can bring a piece of memory or add an artistic touch to your living space.
