Location: Tuscany, Italy, 2015.
Tuscany was the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance - an era of arts and sciences that produced masterpieces like the Mona Lisa and the Creation of Adam. I had envisioned what Tuscany was like before I even went there...great wine, rolling hills, and gorgeous countryside.
I wanted to create a photograph that captures the beauty of this region. I ventured up a hill opposite San Gimignano, a historic medieval village one morning to explore.
The road was steep and unpaved, dusting behind me as I drove forward. I eventually came to a clearing with a good view of the village. San Gimignano had my full attention before I realized the dreamy landscape behind me was what I had been looking for.

Born in Malaysia, I was bitten by the travel bug at a young age. My interest in exploring off the beaten tracks has led me to places such as Tibet, Iran, and Pakistan. While it’s nice to see new places, I have enjoyed the cultural experience of traveling more. I would bring home a piece of local culture from every place I visit, mainly in the form of wall art.
Maybe you have been to places I have photographed, or seen them elsewhere. I hope, through my work, I can bring a piece of memory or add an artistic touch to your living space.
