Location: Hong Kong
A Note From The Artist:
Pearl of the Orient as it is translated from 东方之珠 in mandarin. As a coast and a small island by the South China Sea, Hong Kong has enjoyed years of prosperity since the end of the opium war due to its cultural and economic boom through trade. It has the largest number of skyscrapers and one of the highest life expectancies in the world. It is no surprise why Hong Kong is regarded as the pearl of the far east.
Through an augmented classic view of Hong Kong from Victoria Peak, I wanted to present the city that never sleeps as I see it. Several landmarks can be identified in this photographic artwork, notably the International Commerce Centre, the Bank of China tower with its dual antenna, and the Kowloon Bay.
