A Note From The Artist:
Living close to Singapore for decades, I have actually never been to this part of the country. I was in Esplanade in the evening when the sky was heavily overcast. It was pouring, knowing how tropical weather usually behaves, I had given up hope on any opportunity to explore later that day. As I exited the building towards the car park, I was greeted by this electrified concrete jungle.
The view was spectacular. The buildings in the central business district aligned perfectly next to each other to form a cluster of urban lighthouses so bright that they illuminated the sky above. The night was breezy, people were strolling along the bay and a live celebratory event was not far away as you could hear the microphone and cheering. The atmosphere was idyllic and this is how it feels to be living in one of the safest places on earth.
The electrifying, ultra-modern-glowing-neon-light concept was inspired by the movie Tron, and hence the title. This was precisely how it felt to be there at the time this photograph was created.
